Dr. Lindsey Facelift philosophy in Washington DC

Learn how different approaches to facelifts can lead to very different results. Dr. Lindsey likes a conservative natural result without looking pulled and windswept. YET, enough change must be done for the patient to see what was done.

Dr. Lindsey

i I’m dr. Lindsay let me tell you a bit
00:10
about my facelift philosophy since 1995
00:13
I’ve done over 4,000 facelifts
00:15
this is evolved now to redo most of
00:17
these in the office with light sedation
00:19
and so most of our facelifts are what’s
00:21
called a short scar rhytidectomy
00:23
probably half of the patients to get
00:26
this done get their upper eyelids or the
00:28
lower eyelids done at the same time and
00:31
probably a third fourth of the patients
00:33
come back a few weeks later and get
00:34
facial resurfacing we’ve done lots of
00:37
these over the years and we can do them
00:39
very safely and in general I think that
00:41
facelift is best done to look natural
00:44
and we’re doing it too rather than
00:46
transform them I just don’t care for
00:48
that windswept cool appearance that that
00:51
some people get after an aggressive
00:52
facelift and by and large most of our
00:57
patients return to almost any activity
00:59
at a week with just a little bit of
01:01
makeup on our procedure takes a
01:04
relatively short period of time in the
01:06
office we’re a fairly tight compressive
01:09
head wrap the first night we see you the
01:11
next day we do not use drains or any
01:14
kind of contraptions that require
01:16
additional help the first night and the
01:19
next day we clean you up make sure they
01:21
looks good and then put a lighter
01:22
compressive dressing out what you wear
01:24
for a week everybody complains about
01:26
that at head rep so I would encourage
01:28
you to look at some of our instructional
01:30
videos on YouTube where I interview
01:31
patient stupendous done and then we can
01:34
get your stitches out maybe even day six
01:36
on how things are going and then I we
01:40
see it a month and by and large these
01:43
patients show back up somewhere between
01:45
five and nine years later for some type
01:48
of touch-up
01:49
we’ve got certainly people that are very
01:51
finicky that just can’t stay in any
01:53
aging and are a lot shorter in bed and
01:55
I’ve got some people that feel like this
01:58
holds holds up even longer than nine or
02:01
ten years but I’d say on average this
02:03
lasts about seven years we’ve done lots
02:06
of these without any major complications
02:08
and particularly depended no facial
02:10
nerve injuries with this type of
02:12
procedure
02:13
and we’ve got a before-and-after picture
02:17
book in the office with hundreds of our
02:19
patients of all sizes and shapes and
02:21
ages free to look at when you come in
02:24
for your consultation so look at our
02:26
instructional videos and please come in
02:28
fir to plug it and you’ll answer all
02:29
your questions and see if this is a
02:31
procedure for you thank you
